Underwriting FPA Partner

Accelerant is building a new platform that will serve as the backbone of how risk is exchanged in the future. The Finance team is looking for an Underwriting FP&A Partner who is passionate about building high quality financial strategies that are valued by stakeholders.
If you join our team, here are some of the things you’ll be doing:
- This position will play a key role in developing our strategic plan, annual budgets and forecasts for Accelerants insurance and reinsurance companies
- Forecasting underwriting insurance and reinsurance results
- Support Income Statement, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet forecasting
- Work cross functionally with local finance teams, including CFOs and Accounting
- Partner closely with Reinsurance and Actuarial teams
- Support actual vs budget / forecast reporting
- Support the development, implementation, and adoption of planning solutions
- Develop and maintain modeling enhancements needed to support business needs
- Support senior management in business analysis and strategic initiatives
- Support process improvement initiatives and business metrics development
- Play a leading role in developing group-wide systems and reporting
- Review and present monthly reports on insurance operations
- Perform analysis and provide insights to inform decision making
- Other duties as assigned

Desired qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or another analytical discipline
- 10+ years of experience in the property and casualty space working for a carrier or reinsurer
- 5+ years of experience modeling complex reinsurance structures
- + years support GAAP/Statutory reporting and planning
- Comfortable putting together reports and presenting to business leaders
- Communicate and build relationships with a variety of stakeholders and be able to interact positively and work effective with others
- Prioritize and plan work activities for self and/or others to meet individual, team, and departmental objectives
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve and promote quality; apply feedback to improve performance; monitor own work to ensure quality
- Attention to detail is essential
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience with Tagetik and Microsoft Dynamics is a plus
- Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools such as Tableau a plus
