US Member Review Specialist

Overview:  

The US Member Review Specialist will lead and participate in Member (MGAs, MGUs, and program administrators) Reviews in support of Accelerant goal’s of providing our Members with everything they need to fuel their success. The Reviews encompass key areas within compliance, underwriting, and financial activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform/lead reviews to obtain reasonable assurance of the effectiveness of underwriting, documentation, compliance, reporting, and financial activities.
  • Review rates and forms compliance for sample policies to identify deviations from our State approved filings.
  • Perform underwriting file review to assess adherence to established underwriting guidelines/procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Communicate reviews and recommendations by preparing reports, discussions with management and providing information in meetings.
  • Communicate (verbal and written) regularly with stakeholders to provide feedback and improve processes and procedures.
  • Build positive and value-added relationships with Members and Company senior management team.
  • Analyze data to identify errors and make a meaningful sample selection based on various criteria.
  • Perform review of premium trust monthly transactional report.
  • Keep abreast of any changes to laws and regulations which pertain to Insurance Underwriting & Compliance.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years related audit experience in an insurance company is required preferably of an MGA/MGU/TPA. Underwriting and/or rating experience with a commercial insurance carrier is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to establish partnerships with Members and peers.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, project management and communications skills (written and oral).
  • Up to 30% of Domestic travel is required.
