Re-platforming the Insurance Value Chain

Jeff has nearly 30 years of experience in insurance, having started his career as an intern at Guy Carpenter. Before founding Accelerant to reimagine the way risk is exchanged, Jeff drove strategic initiatives at Argo Group for a decade, and was previously CEO of the PXRE Group. His comprehensive understanding of the insurance industry inspired him to address critical pain points in the underwriting industry through Accelerant’s more data-driven approach.

Chris was previously the Global Head of Alternative Distribution for Argo Group, where he led Mergers and Acquisitions, digital distribution channels, and Affinities and Broker Schemes and Facilities. He co-founded Accelerant because he is passionate about ensuring that the industry in which he has dedicated his career works better for everyone. He previously served as the Head of Growth Strategies for AON, and before that, he was the COO of Willis and the Head of Change Management for Guy Carpenter. Chris is certified by the Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).

Jay serves as Accelerant’s group chief financial officer. He previously worked at Goldman Sachs, where he was a Managing Director and Head of Insurance Structured Finance within the Investment Banking Division, leading the group responsible for alternative capital raising and insurance-linked securitization. Before Goldman, he held senior roles in the capital markets divisions of Guy Carpenter & Company and Swiss Reinsurance Company.

Frank has a long history of leading reinsurance relationships worldwide. Prior to joining Accelerant, Frank spent more than two decades at Swiss Re, where he was CEO of the UK and Ireland market as well as for Africa and the Middle East. Before this, he led the Life and Health sectors for the U.S. market for five years and South East Asia for two.

Prior to joining Accelerant, Matt worked at Boston Consulting Group for over a decade, where he was a Managing Director and Partner and co-led the firm’s North American insurance practice. Previously, he worked for Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division. Matt graduated from Duke University with a B.S.E. in Biomedical Engineering then received his M.B.A. from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Nancy has extensive experience with legal and regulatory matters in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Accelerant, she was a practicing attorney at Keystone Law from 2018 to 2019 and a Partner at Sidley Austin LLP from 2002 to 2018, specializing in insurance regulatory matters. Nancy also previously served as a director at Gefion Insurance SA.

Pete leads Accelerant’s global platform strategy and development, including our proprietary data and technology functions that help Members better understand risk, benefit from insights, and handle operational and regulatory complexity. A software executive who excels at leveraging technology, Pete most recently served as Vice President of Engineering for business analytics platform Qlik, where he brought their platform to the cloud as an Enterprise SaaS offering. Before that, Horst held software development and engineering roles at IBM and Cognos.

Chelsea manages claims and drives innovation in the space across our global business. Before joining Accelerant, she managed the Professional Lines team at Brit Insurance and was previously the Head of Professional Indemnity Claims at Liberty Special Markets for 10 years. She earned a six-year double degree in law and forensic science, and in her work as an attorney acted for international and domestic insurers in both the claimant and defendant arena.
