Employee Spotlight

Employee Perspectives: Joe Prin

At Accelerant, we believe our people are the driving force behind our mission to reshape the insurance industry. Our Employee Perspectives series highlights the talented individuals who are helping us build a smarter, more connected ecosystem. Today, we’re excited to feature Joe Prin, Senior Member Relationship Manager within our Distribution Team. Learn more about Joe and how he supports Accelerant Members to succeed and grow.

Favorite sports team: Leeds United—despite the stress they put me through most weekends! But anyone who supports a football team knows how impossible it is to stay unaffected by their results.

Favorite travel destination: Canada’s Rocky Mountains. Two weeks of exploring the endless mountains, lakes, and wildlife was unforgettable—New Zealand is next on the list.

A hobby I picked up recently: Golf. I only started a year ago, and I’m determined to keep improving. It’s a great excuse to spend more time outdoors.

Go-to comfort food: Pizza. It’s my first choice every time. I’m also a big fan of Norwegian chocolate, which I discovered while visiting Members in Oslo. My travel bag always comes home packed with as many bars as I can carry.

Bucket list goal: Driving an F1 car around a track. While that may not be likely, riding part of the Monte Carlo circuit on an electric bike has been a pretty cool substitute.

What makes the culture at Accelerant unique from other places you’ve worked?
Working at Accelerant is unique because we approach everything with the mindset that there’s always a way to get the job done. We focus on solutions rather than letting challenges slow us down. That attitude makes it easier to help our Members succeed.

What motivates you to come to work every day?
The people. Both my colleagues and our Members make every day rewarding. I learn something new all the time, and it’s exciting to be part of a fun and successful team while helping our Members reach their goals.

What’s a common misconception about what you do?
That we’re always out for lunch! I wish that were true, but we work hard to support our Members—and occasionally, celebrating their success over lunch is well-deserved.

What advice would you give someone exploring career opportunities?
Find a job you genuinely enjoy, and everything else becomes easier. Make sure the company culture aligns with your values and feels like the right fit for you.

How do you see your role evolving in the next few years?
I’m working toward becoming a Member Relationship Director, where I’ll lead Member relationships instead of contributing in a supporting role. I’ve already started taking the lead with a few Members, and it’s been a great step forward for my development.
