Reports to: Claims Operations Director

Our objective is to reshape the value chain for our Members using data driven insights. Claims data forms an integral part of our Members data requirements.

This role is part of the Global Claims Operations Team, which reports into the Risk Exchange Operations function. Your focus will be on servicing the claims operational requirements in US and Canada, executing on a common global approach. The team operates as one and support is not always restricted to the jurisdiction of a requirement.  This position is remote, working with a geographically dispersed set of teams across North America and Europe.  Core working hours for collaboration are Eastern mornings / GMT afternoons.

Your role will contribute to the overall success of our claims data quality from receipt of the claims data to feeding downstream accounting applications, whilst servicing the many use cases of claims data across the business.

You will be required to be an expert in claims data and point of escalation, whilst having an active role in overseeing the operational support to ensure the data flows through the data pipeline accurately, consistently, and timely. There will not be any direct people management required but there will be a requirement to have oversite of claims data activities carried out by operational support and engagement with TPAs.

You will be required to support the Core Claims Team with their operational requirements. Oversite of on-boarding Due Diligence of TPAs, re-assessment, loss fund set up and reconciliation. The team also support the execution and oversite of TPA external audit and Accelerant’s internal quality assurance programme.

If you join our team, here are some of the things you’ll do:

  • Ensuring claims data is received and processed through the Accelerant systems accurately, timely and consistently.
  • Be a point of escalation and an expert to operational support.
  • Be a point of escalation and an expert to the core claims team.
  • Develop an intimate knowledge of the claims data journey from end to end.
  • Develop an intimate knowledge of Accelerant claims data, why we gather it, what we do with it and how.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to resolve and manage any claims data requirements or queries.
  • Engage with TPAs to ensure receipt of better, quicker, and consistent claims data.
  • Consider the bigger picture: what, why and how can we make process and task improvements through technology.
  • Support with data on-boarding. Ensuring we get the right data standards from the start.
  • Gain an intimate knowledge of the Accelerant business model, it’s Members and TPAs.

Desired qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 5 years claims experience. P&C desirable.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of claims bordereaux processing and data.
  • Must have an in-depth knowledge of claims TPA governance and performance management.
  • Claims handling background is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of how claims work, principle of indemnity and how TPAs function.
  • Ability to understand a problem, resolve the problem and be able to look at how the problem can be prevented going forward.
  • Comfortable with shifting priorities and adapting to change.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Curiosity
  • Ability to multitask- having several concurrent tasks in-flight.
  • Good understanding of claims data.
  • Autonomous, self-starting with limited oversight required.
