Reports to: Head of International Tax 

Overview  

This newly created role reports to the Head of International Tax. The role involves supporting in the provision of advice in respect of strategic initiatives, the continuous strengthening and monitoring of the tax control environment in respect of UK and European tax risks, alongside facilitating compliance with International Tax reporting obligations across Transfer Pricing, Country-by-Country Reporting and Pillar II.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support with the provision of ad hoc tax advice to manage UK and European tax consequences of International Structuring, Cross-border Group arrangements and Global Mobility.
  • Partner with local Finance teams for UK and European operating companies to support adherence to Group Tax governance framework and the support implementation and monitoring of appropriate tax processes and controls.
  • Monitoring and risk assessment of legislative updates across UK and Europe, working with colleagues to determine any impact for Accelerant.
  • Support the ongoing review of Pillar II tax obligations and their application to the Accelerant Group, alongside the implementation of processes and controls to meet Pillar II reporting obligations.
  • Work closely with external advisors and internal stakeholders to facilitate the timely and accurate preparation of Transfer Pricing documentation and Country-by-Country reporting obligations, including monitoring the tax consequences of intragroup cost allocations.

Skills and qualifications Required:  

  • 5+ years practical experience in Big 4/boutique tax advisory firm, or equivalent level of in-house experience.
  • Experience in managing International Tax impacts of cross-border arrangements.
  • Indirect Tax and Employment Tax experience is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Able to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and work closely and proactively with functional teams across the Group.
  • Develop strong working relationships and pro-actively suggest potential solutions to manage risks and maximize opportunities as appropriate.
  • Ability to articulate complex issues and themes to all levels of organisation, with strong communication skillset.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities as necessary.
