Name:  Raquel Reneses

Title: Senior Underwriter & Branch Manager

Location: Madrid, Spain

Can you describe your role in a couple of sentences?

I am in charge of the underwriting process for Surety in Spain and France and the Branch Manager for Spain.

Why would someone want to be an Accelerant Member?

Accelerant is a team of experts. We are a solution to those problems of capacity that Members have currently. We are innovative and flexible.

What did you do before Accelerant?

I worked for an MGA for 7 years as Manager of Strategy and Development.

What was your first-ever job?

My first ever job was as a teacher during my studies.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Madrid.

How did you learn about Accelerant?

I knew Accelerant when they first started through a colleague who was talking about this fantastic new company they had heard of.

Who inspires you?

My father inspires me — he has encouraged me always to do my best, always study hard, and be the best person I can be.

What are you most proud of?

I am proud of my family, which includes my husband and three children: Pablo (19 years old), Raquel (13years old), and Julia ( 9 years old)

What do you love to do when you’re not working

I love to have time with my family and to do some exercise such as running, skiing, or sailing.
