At Accelerant, we're not just keeping pace with technological advancements, we're leading the charge. As we refine and expand our operations, we're looking for a forward-thinking Data Architect to offer technical leadership for our dynamic Data Platform team of Data Engineers.

As a Data Architect, you are responsible for defining and guiding the technical composition, construction, orchestration, and management collectively referred to as our Data Platform. This includes ensuring proactive and measured management of that various “*ilities” necessary to maintain a robust and sustainable Data Platform like performability, scalability, sustainability, maintainability, etc., and security. You will work directly with the lead Data Platform Architect and architects from teams to include Analytics Architect, and those responsible for our front end and backend services that rely on our Data Platform.

Our data platform is at the heart of our operations—it drives our SaaS platform, underpins our internal analytics, and fuels our operational systems. Its architectural foundation is of paramount importance and offers a great opportunity for challenging work for an enterprising Data Architect.

Architectural Leadership

  • Oversee our Data Platform’s technical architecture and align it with our business and technological goals. Work with all engineers within the team to establish and enforce pragmatic technical approaches to solving real business problems.
  • Collaborate closely with the lead architect of the Data Platform and other architects and Product Management to ensure cohesive and holistic architectural approaches.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in architectural design, DataOps, and decision-making processes.
  • Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.


Design and Innovation

  • Contribute to the overall design of our data platform architecture with a keen focus on scalability, security, and performance. Your role is crucial in introducing innovative practices and technologies within our data platform stack.


Collaborative Team Leadership

  • Forge strong connections with other engineering teams, product managers, product designers and other stakeholders that rely on the Data Platform to ensure cohesive development and implementation.


Mentorship and Technical Guidance

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to our data engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.


Solution Evaluation

  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance our data engineering capabilities and improve efficiency.


Quality Assurance

  • Ensure architectural integrity and compliance with quality standards, including conducting code reviews and architectural assessments.


Risk Management

  • Proactively identify technical risks and devise strategies to ensure the reliability and security of our systems.


Qualifications & Required Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record and architect role.
  • Extensive knowledge of software and data engineering architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience with cloud technologies, data warehouses, and modern data tools and technologies. AWS, Snowflake, and dbt are especially important.
  • Strong understanding of DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
